“Work and Health” Project
  
This innovative project brings information and services relating to STD/HIV/AIDS prevention to employees at the work place. This program began in 1992 in the industrial zones of Metropolitan Santo Domingo, and their adjoining neighbourhoods.
The “Work and Health” project employs an educational intervention model for STD/HIV/AIDS that minimally disrupts work time or productivity.
Objectives
Promote behaviour change that reduces the incidence of the STD/HIV/AIDS.
Foster supportive attitudes and solidarity towards people living with the HIV/AIDS in the work place.
Increase condom use.
Improve health services relating to STIs/HIV/AIDS in medical facilities catering to industrial zones workers.
